Position Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR Department in the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, benefits, payroll, compliance, and training. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management. In addition to administering payroll and benefits programs, the HR Generalist ensures compliance with employment laws, safety requirements, and company policies. The role also supports organizational culture through engagement initiatives, training programs, and effective communication, while handling day-to-day HR operations with accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage the full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offers.

Lead onboarding activities: offer letters, new hire paperwork, system setup, orientation meetings, and integration into company culture.

Represent the company at college career fairs, networking events, and other talent outreach initiatives.

Coordinate offboarding processes to ensure compliance and positive transitions.

Employee Development & Culture

Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace practices.

Coordinate employee training programs, including scheduling and tracking participation.

Assist in the rollout/management of employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, wellness activities, and team-building events.

Benefits & Compensation

Assist with benefits administration, including health insurance, 401k retirement plans, and leave of absence management.

Ensure timely enrollment of newly eligible employees in benefits plans.

Respond to employee questions regarding health, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits and resolve discrepancies.

Payroll & HR Systems

Manage and process weekly/bi-weekly payroll accurately in ADP, ensuring compliance with wage, tax, and deduction requirements.

Maintain complete and accurate payroll records, including timekeeping, wage garnishments, deductions, and benefit contributions.

Prepare payroll reports and audits, as needed, in coordination with the finance department.

Ensure accurate administration of prevailing wages.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related questions and ensure timely resolution of employee inquiries.

Maintain HRIS data and employee records with a high level of accuracy, security, and confidentiality.

Policies, Compliance & Safety

Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies, procedures and employee handbook.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Ensure compliance with health and safety programs, including training, reporting, and safety equipment needs.

Monitor and ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and regulations.

General Administration

Participate in ad hoc projects and general office administrative tasks to support business as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.

At least 1 year of experience supporting Talent Acquisition (including recruiting coordination) and utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter.

Strong knowledge of: ADP Workforce Now, HR laws and best practices.

Comfortable wearing many hats with strong prioritization and time management skills.
