Our company is seeking a dedicated candidate to join our Human Resources team. The Human Resource Generalist role is integral to our organization, responsible for recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee termination, payroll and benefits, and adherence to company policy and procedure. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with our employees and managers, providing essential support for their human resource needs. Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts for all employees.
  • Develop and oversee new hire orientation, onboarding efforts, and employee termination process.
  • Process hourly payroll and administer employee benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and legal responsibilities.
  • Create and modify company policies as needed.
  • Administer the time and attendance system.
  • Identify, coordinate, and conduct employee training based on evaluation of training needs.
  • Assist with administration of employee job descriptions and evaluations.
  • Handle all unemployment claims and workers compensation claims.
  • Assist employees with HR related questions and concerns, using interpersonal communication skills and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Conduct employee investigations as needed and assist with coordination of job placement for employees with restrictions.
  • Coordinate and assist with company social events.
  • Participate in labor relations, following a collective bargaining agreement, and assist with grievances and negotiations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in Human Resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience using Paychex, Team Engine, and UKG systems preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience with benefits and compensation, including ACA administration, strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
