Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic HR Generalist / HR Manager to join our HR team. This full-time, in-office role will support company-wide HR operations while also leading initiatives that foster a high-performance culture, employee development, and organizational effectiveness.
This is a high-impact position that blends day-to-day HR operations with long-term people strategies. You will serve as a trusted advisor to managers, support field and regional teams, and partner closely with the Senior Director of Human Resources to advance training and development, performance management, and employee engagement programs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Development-Focused Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to enhance talent development and career growth frameworks, including 30-60-90 onboarding, mentorship, and employee learning programs.
- Design and deliver training programs (in-house or through third parties) to support performance, compliance, leadership, and employee development.
- Support the buildout of performance management practices, including feedback cycles, goal alignment, and review processes.
- Evaluate and recommend HR technologies and platforms to streamline onboarding, benefits administration, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate on internal communications strategies to support engagement, transparency, and culture building.
- Contribute to initiatives promoting health, wellness, and well-being in the workplace, particularly for the corporate office.
Tactical HR Operations
- Provide full-cycle HR support across onboarding, employee lifecycle, payroll coordination, and offboarding.
- Administer benefits programs, manage open enrollment, tie out monthly invoicing, and ensure timely audits and reporting.
- Serve as primary contact for leave of absence administration (FMLA, ADA, state-specific programs), workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and verifications.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices across all jurisdictions, including CA, WA, and other states in our footprint.
- Maintain and update employee data in ADP Workforce Now; generate custom reports and assist with payroll processing as needed.
- Coordinate quarterly HR compliance reports, and maintain accurate documentation to support audits and internal inquiries.
- Track HR metrics, maintain case documentation, and support resolution of employee relations matters alongside the Sr. Director of HR.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in HR strategy meetings and drive follow-up items to completion.
- Maintain notary certification (must be obtained within 3 months of employment).
- Support the rollout of new HR policies, programs, and systems.
- Stay current with HR trends, compliance developments, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or HR management role.
- HR Certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
- Demonstrated success in performance management, training, and employee development.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law; multi-state HR experience a plus.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
- Ability to operate both tactically and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000-$95,000
