Five Star Golf Cars is a premier golf cart dealer and service provider with locations across Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Eastern New York. As the certified E-Z-GO distributor for New England and Eastern NY, we offer a full range of E-Z-GO and Cushman vehicles, including new, used, and custom golf carts. We provide sales, service and parts for both gas and electric carts, catering to various needs such as personal use, fleet management, and special events.

We are searching for a mid-level HR Generalist in our Nashua, NH office. The position reports to the Controller. As a one-person HR department, this role will oversee all aspects of human resources including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration. The company currently has between 40-50 employees across New England and Eastern New York. This role supports the company’s growth by fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and enhancing employee engagement. Please note that this is not eligible for remote or hybrid work and requires daily on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and hiring.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee records in HRIS.
  • Assist in workforce planning and succession planning to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide new employees with company equipment, email addresses, and purchasing cards as needed.

HR Metrics & Reporting:

  • Track and report HR metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, employee engagement scores) to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Provide reporting on payroll and benefits variances to the budget.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and company events.

Payroll & Benefits:

  • Process payroll biweekly by ensuring accurate timekeeping, employee data updates, and communication & verification of commissions or other incentives.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
  • Support the Controller in HR-related reporting and audits.

Compliance & HR Policies:

  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies under the direction of the company’s owner.
  • Suggest changes to employee handbooks and HR policies as needed.
  • Deal with employee terminations as needed and manage exit interviews, identifying trends, and implementing retention strategies.

Workers' Compensation and Insurance

  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims and support safety initiatives.
  • Assist the Controller with any workers' compensation audits.
  • Coordinate property and casualty insurance under the direction of the Controller.

HR Administration & Process Improvement:

  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance HR efficiency.
  • Support training and development initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Travel to various company locations on a regular basis and as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
