Position Overview

Designers Choice is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations of our Hyde Park, MA warehouse and wholesale distribution facility, with additional support for our Mechanicsburg, PA location.

This role serves as the primary on-site HR resource for employees and supervisors. The HR Generalist is responsible for the execution and administration of core HR functions, including employee support, payroll and timekeeping coordination, benefits and leave administration, HR systems maintenance, and employment compliance. The role is highly hands-on and operational, supporting a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for employee HR questions and requests
  • Support employee relations activities, including attendance issues, policy clarification, and basic disciplinary documentation
  • Assist supervisors with performance documentation and consistent application of HR policies
  • Help onboard new hires and support offboarding processes

Payroll, Timekeeping & HR Systems

  • Serve as site administrator for ADP Workforce Now
  • Coordinate payroll and timekeeping activities, ensuring accurate data entry and timely submission
  • Maintain employee records, files, and required HR documentation
  • Support basic HR reporting and audits as needed

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Coordinate and track leaves of absence in compliance with applicable regulations, including FMLA and Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)
  • Act as a liaison between employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding benefits and leave matters

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Support compliance with Federal, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania employment laws
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed consistently
  • Assist with maintaining required postings, documentation, and records

Multi-Site Support

  • Provide operational HR support to the Mechanicsburg, PA facility as needed
  • Assist with cross-location HR processes and coordination

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Bilingual required (English and Spanish)
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar HRIS/payroll system
  • Experience administering employee benefits and leaves of absence
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws; Pennsylvania exposure a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving ability
