The Welder must be capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, general arrangement and sub-component detail drawings
Maintain, repair, rebuild and fabricate parts when required for all types of industrial equipment
Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose equipment problems and performs necessary repairs and reports findings to supervision
Performs MIG, arc and TIG welding, layout, and pipefitting functions
Full compliance with plant, state and federal safety regulations and general work rules. Use of proper lock-out procedure and personal protective equipment
Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes
Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures
Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material
Tacks assemblies together
Chip off excess weld, slag and spatter
Cleans or de-greases parts
Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding
Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area
Other duties as assigned
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required; military experience, trade or technical school preferred
Experience & Skills
Certified Welder
Required to obtain a D14.1 certification at a G1-G4 position within 30 days after hire.
If they have already obtained certification with a previous employer is does not apply in our facility. They would need to qualify with Mazzella.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication environment or other equivalent experience
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
Possess a working knowledge of all applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, and OSHA)
Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
