LOCATION: Minneapolis Headquarters (hybrid, not fully remote)

The Human Resources team serves as Blu Dot's talent manager, cultural ambassador, and associate-support center. Our mission is to help align our people and culture with our core values and strategic goals. We accomplish this by establishing HR practices, processes and policies that support and promote employee growth, a sense of community and common cause, wellness, and strong overall company performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE: Blu Dot is looking for a skilled and dynamic Generalist to join the HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for running the daily functions of the HR department, in partnership with the Director of Human Resources. As a part of a small team, this role will have direct involvement in the development and maintenance of new programs, initiatives and processes. This would be a good fit for an HR professional looking to make a larger impact on the HR infrastructure and strategy of a creative, mid-sized organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Process and audit bi-weekly payroll, maintain compensation and employee data, and support year-end payroll reporting and compliance
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, life event changes, Open Enrollment coordination, and vendor partnership support
  • Serve as a trusted HR resource to employees and managers by providing guidance on policies, performance management, employee relations matters, and workplace concerns
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, maintain accurate HRIS records, administer leave programs, and assist with HR reporting, audits, and policy updates
  • Partner with hiring managers to support full-cycle recruiting activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and maintaining ATS records
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous process improvements to strengthen HR operations and employee experience
  • Help foster an inclusive workplace culture by supporting employee engagement efforts and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives

IDEAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS*:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field (Business Administration, Psychology/Sociology, Industrial Organization, etc.), or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of HR experience, including experience with payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, and employee relations
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Strong understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and benefits administration
  • Knowledge of employment laws including FLSA, ACA, ADA, FMLA, and general employee relations practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Position is based out of Minneapolis, MN headquarters with a flexible working environment/schedule (no full-time remote work available)
