Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist (or Junior HR professional) on behalf of one of our clients, a freight forwarding company based in the Jersey City, NJ area. This role is ideal for candidates with a degree in Human Resources or a related field, as well as individuals with prior experience in HR or administrative roles who are looking to grow within the HR function. The selected candidate will support day-to-day HR operations and serve as a key point of contact within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential job functions include the following, but are not limited to:

• Support daily HR activities, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee records management

• Assist with recruitment processes (job postings, screening, interview coordination)

• Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations

• Provide administrative support to the HR Manager

• Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries

• Assist with payroll coordination and benefits administration

• Help organize training sessions and employee engagement initiatives

• Support performance management processes and internal communications

Requirements:

• Language: Proficiency in English and Italian is required

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in HR, administration, or a related role

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Knowledge of US HR practices is a plus
