We are seeking a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist (English/Spanish) to support our growing apparel manufacturing operation in Hauppauge, NY. This role will manage day-to-day HR functions and serve as a key point of contact for both hourly production employees and management.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment and is comfortable working with a Spanish-speaking workforce.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as an HR partner to employees and supervisors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Provide HR support to hourly and salaried employees, including employee relations and policy interpretation

Conduct onboarding, orientation, and training in English and Spanish

Support full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviews, hiring, and onboarding

Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data accurately

Administer benefits enrollment, leave of absence, and employee programs

Assist with payroll coordination, time & attendance, and wage compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including NY labor laws)

Handle employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary processes

Assist with safety programs and HR compliance audits

Perform additional HR administrative and project-based duties as needed

Requirements:
Required Qualifications

Bilingual required: Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written)

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role

Experience supporting a manufacturing, apparel, or production workforce strongly preferred

Knowledge of HR best practices, employee relations, and employment law

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Preferred Qualifications

HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR)

Experience working with hourly production employees

Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS, and timekeeping software

Experience in apparel, garment, or light manufacturing environments
