Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day administration of human resources programs and initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, leave management, employee engagement, training, and workforce support.
This position serves as a key business partner to employees and operational leadership, helping foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. The HR Generalist is expected to maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor, build relationships with employees, and support the daily needs of a diverse workforce.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Workforce Support
Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders by providing guidance on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, attendance, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Conduct workplace investigations and assist with resolving employee concerns in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
Partner with site leadership to support employee engagement, retention, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Provide support to employees on a variety of HR-related topics and resolve issues as they arise.
Promote HR programs that create a positive, productive, and conflict-free workplace.
Enhance employee satisfaction by supporting engagement initiatives, recognition programs, team-building activities, and retention efforts.
Administer attendance recognition and employee engagement programs.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including screening applicants, scheduling interviews, coordinating post-offer physicals, and background checks.
Support talent acquisition efforts to ensure staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
Assist in organizing and facilitating training and development initiatives.
Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration
Process and audit weekly payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
Maintain payroll records and coordinate payroll-related changes and corrections.
Administer compensation and benefit programs.
Manage employee benefits administration, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
Manage employee leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other applicable leave programs.
Compliance & Administration
Maintain employee personnel files, records, and HR documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Assist with performance management processes and employee performance reviews.
Handle all administrative tasks related to onboarding, employee changes, and HR system maintenance.
Maintain knowledge of current employment laws, regulatory changes, HR best practices, and emerging HR technologies.
Health & Safety
Support and promote a culture where safety is a core value.
Partner with operational leadership to support safety initiatives, investigations, training, and compliance activities.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and comply with applicable OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
Report workplace hazards and encourage safe work practices throughout the facility.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years of Human Resources experience required.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
Experience supporting a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other operational workforce preferred.
Prior payroll processing experience preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage and hour regulations, workers' compensation, and leave administration.
Experience with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems. Experience with ADP and UKG is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
