DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
a. Responsible for processing personnel action notices as well as other payroll related documents for employees and student workers.
b. Responsible for the data entry and processing of faculty load forms and contracts as well as generating Athletic Department contracts.
c. Responsible for entry and maintenance of personnel and payroll related information into the College’s ERP system and other departmental databases.
d. Administer and process requests for leave under FMLA as well as any other employee leave requests.
e. Administer all College sick banks.
f. Responsible for the creation of new processes and improvements to existing processes with the assistance and feedback of others in the department. Also responsible for creating and executing action plans to implement processes in order to meet the goals of the department as well as the college.
g. Provides administrative assistance and support to the HR Generalist-Benefits and serves as the back up to all day-to-day benefits related matters.
h. Counsels employees and supervisory staff regarding employment matters and other work-related matters as needed.
i. Serves as a backup to all other duties in the Human Resources Department.
j. Safeguards confidential oral and written personnel information.
k. Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations and display of required posters.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
a. Serves as a backup for SURS matters, rules, and regulations and assists in the processing of State Universities Retirement System (SURS) events.
b. Assists the Director of Human Resources with developing and updating Human Resources-related policies and procedures.
c. Serve on the Banner Support Team.
d. Acts as a back-up to other Human Resources staff as needed.
e. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
a. Works directly with the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources staff.
b. Works directly with Payroll and Finance staff as well as the HR Systems Administrator.
c. Works with the Banner Support Team.
d. Works cooperatively with the College Administration as needed.
e. Works closely with employees and their dependents.

a. Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
b. Minimum three years HR experience required. Experience with payroll and payroll related data entry preferred.
c. Job related certification (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, CEBS, etc) preferred.
d. Previous experience working with an HRIS or ERP required.
e. Previous experience working in higher education or unionized environments preferred.
f. Intermediate level ability with Microsoft Office and ability to learn job related ERP systems required.
g. Ability to work well with people of a diverse background in a friendly, respectful manner.
h. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
i. Strong communication and organizational skills required.
j. Ability to travel to career fairs and to other BHC locations is required.
