A warm and welcoming elementary school, L. Hollingworth School, known for its compassionate staff and strong partnerships with students, families and community, is seeking an HR Generalist to join its dedicated team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Communication, Business, Human Resources or related field

● At least 5 years of successful experience in Human Resources

● Successfully pass state and federal criminal background check

● Proven and successful track-record in working with staff and administration in Human Resources

NATURE OF POSITION:

The Human Resources Manager is expected to be engaged in representing LHS in developing and implementing Human Resources management.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

● Participate in any Board meetings as requested by the Head of School or Superintendent. ● Manage all documentation relating to FMLA leaves, workers compensation claims, unemployment claims, retirement records, and all other pertinent personnel matters.

● Assist with processing all legal aspects of personnel reporting including fingerprinting background checks, OSHA, FMLA, Cobra and Workers Compensation.

● Recruitment for LHS open positions, including job postings, promotion of organization and opening, applicant management, applicant review, interviewing, reference checks, drug screening requirements, criminal background checks, and new hire recommendations.

● Manage staff and executive onboarding. Send all necessary collected documentation to LHS and Mangen.

● Assist the Head of School and Superintendent with the ongoing review of the Employee Handbook in tandem with Board Counsel to ensure compliance and reflect new changes in policy.

● Manage all health-related HR issues and concerns in tandem with Board Counsel and Dickson Wright law firm.

● Stay current on all HR policies and procedures related to school operations and staff. Advise Head of School and Superintendent accordingly.

● Maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with staff and administration.

● Continued involvement in PD activities that specifically involve HR related updates and concerns.

● Guidance in the termination process and employee discipline as applicable. Available to be on site in the event of an emergency personnel issue.

● Manage insurance-related issues, Form Fire, and Open Enrollment. Representation during employee benefit meetings and activities as needed, along with the Office Manager. Communicate effectively in response to staff inquiries and questions regarding employee benefits.

● Support the Title IX (9) Coordinator, and serve as the lead investigator for addressing complaints/concerns to ensure that the School follows the appropriate grievance process for addressing sexual harassment complaints.

● Perform other professional duties that may arise.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Head of School

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

▪ Be interested in the work of the school, strongly committed to moral values, whose mission is dedicated to providing an excellent early educational foundation for children that will enable them to be motivated and excited learners.

▪ Establish and maintain work performance standards in line with those standards established by L. Hollingworth School for Talented and Gifted.

▪ Communicate regularly with the Head of School regarding the management of staff in relation to Human Resources issues.

▪ Communicate effectively with the staff regarding information, policies, and new procedures. Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work with people in a team environment.

▪ Assure confidentiality of all staff and school privileged information. ▪ Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with the Board of Directors, Buckeye Community Hope Foundation, students, parents, fellow teachers, co-workers and the community.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
