JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist serves as a consultant and advisor on human resources-related issues. The Generalist has responsibility for providing day-to-day operational assistance across all functions of HR, including new hire orientation, leave administration, workers' compensation management, disability administration, benefits management, personnel record maintenance, designated projects, bonus tracking, credentialing and direct support to the HRBPs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes a customer-centered culture that emphasizes outstanding service and meets our commitments to the organization.
- Responsible for the management and oversight of employee leave programs ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements.
- Supports the administration of the workers' compensation program through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinates process for employees requesting reasonable accommodation and disability-related support in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Collaborate with the benefit team to support the administration of employee benefit programs.
- Works across all functions of the HR department providing operational and administrative support.
- Facilitates new hire onboarding and orientation programs and conducts orientation, as needed.
- Supports HR projects and process improvements across multiple disciplines, including talent management, employee and labor relations, and operations to align with departmental goals, organizational priorities, and regulatory standards.
- Creates a metric-driven process to track utilization, retention and turnover to drive workforce optimization (i.e. establish and promoting best practices for qualifying and tracking leave time; partnering with HR Business Partners to create appropriate return-to-work strategies and leveraging leadership to promote HR messaging aimed towards continuous improvement.
- Works closely with HRBPs and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Partners with the Recruiting team to assist with the Applicant Tracking system, including job requisitions, sourcing, hiring of applicants and compiles weekly reports for the Director of Human Resources.
- Provides timely reports to the HR management team regarding benchmarks and dashboard results.
- Actively participates in weekly departmental staff meetings.
- Actively participate in a minimum of two hospital committees.
- Maintains abreast of current local, state and federal regulations.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- A minimum of two years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
- Demonstrated an outstanding “sense of urgency.”
- Superior customer service skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and support role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated attention to complex details, execution, and timely follow-through.
- Excellent organizational skills, and work proactively and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Preferred:
- Successful completion and annual renewal of SHRM-CP/PHR.
- Experience working in a hospital/clinical setting.
- Knowledge of Position Manager or other ATS.
- Masters, Bachelors, or Human Resource Certification from an accredited college.
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
