Vermeer Colorado is the authorized distributor for Vermeer equipment in Colorado and Wyoming with four branch locations, we provide dedicated sales, rentals, parts and service support for customers in the tree care, landscaping, wood waste, organic recycling, underground construction and mining industries.
We Are Looking for Someone Like You
As the HR Generalist, you will be a vital member of Vermeer Colorado’s family. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of human resources functions for our Colorado team including HRIS, payroll and federal/state compliance. This position will support the VP on many companywide HR initiatives as well.
Your Day-to-Day at Vermeer:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support and implement company policies and procedures. As well as help develop and enforce company policies.
- Track and document employee leaves (e.g., FMLA, FAMLI, ADA) and assist with communications and documentation.
- Administration of all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, 401(K), life insurance, voluntary benefits, etc.
- Assist with payroll, track and monitor vacations, absences & tardies.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, hands-on support, and developmental guidance to site leadership
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures to employees.
- Assist with writing job descriptions, preparing offer letters, and pre-hire paperwork
- Help with new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for all employees.
- Support benefits administration including enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee questions
- Help with offboarding tasks like termination paperwork, COBRA coordination, and exit interviews
- Lead the planning for key employee-facing events.
- Assist with HR projects as needed.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent work experience
- 2 - 5 years of experience in HR
- Strong understanding of employment laws and hiring best practices
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification is preferred
- Excellent time management, prioritization skills and sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently when required, and escalate appropriately
- Strong work ethic, collaboration and team working skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in the English language
- Experience working with confidential data and data retention
- Strong technical capability, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with HRIS system such as PAYCOM

Shift:
- Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
- two 15 minute breaks & 1 hour lunch break
Hiring Range:
- $30 - $35/hr , paid twice per month
