JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Human Resources Generalist
Department: Human ResourcesAdministration
Reports To: Human ResourcesAdministration Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt from Wage and Hour Laws
Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00-4:30
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Accountability Indices: Efficient and accurate administration of records, processes and projects that involve confidential, sensitive CCNB employee information.
SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist has primary responsibility for day-to-day delivery of efficient human resources services to all CCNB employees. They will organize and coordinate a range of HR projects including onboarding; benefits enrollment; separation; workers comp; training and safety; records management; and general HR administration. The Human Resources Generalist has frequent interaction with all staff and Corpsmembers, the general public, vendors, and other business partners. This position will be based out of our Santa Rosa office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Life Cycle

Coordinate new hire orientation, including completion of new hire paperwork.

Schedule and conduct exit interviews.
- Process resignations, new hires, rehires and terminations.

Coordinate delivery of final pay from payroll and receipt to employee on final day.
Workers Compensation, Safety and Training
-
Manage the day-to-day workers compensation process, including initiating, tracking, and closing WC claims; and follow up with supervisors.

Maintain compliant OSHA logs.
- Assist the Human ResourcesAdministration Manager with disability management and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliance.
- Participate in the development and delivery of safety and other training meetings by securing vendors, presentation/document preparation, and tallying evaluations.
Employee Relations
- Ensure proper compliance with labor laws including wage and hour regulations, FMLA, COBRA, ADA and EEO, unemployment insurance, worker's compensation and other applicable state and federal laws.
- In collaboration with the Human ResourcesAdministration Manager, work with managers and staff to address and resolve employee or Corpsmember relations issues.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and provide appropriate recommendations.

Contribute to personnel relations/corrective action policy and training requirements.

Provide training on organization policy and procedures, as necessary.
Benefits Administration

Manage open enrollment, and employee guidance on benefit plans.

Ensure proper compliance when processing benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Employee Engagement

Assist with staff acknowledgement at programs and events.

Facilitate and/or participate in on-site meetings and events with staff and Corpsmembers
HR Administration
-
Maintain employee database to document, record, update, and track all personnel actions (e.g., hire, promotion, workers comp, LOA, accommodation, etc.).

Process employment verification requests and wage garnishments.

Handle general HR inquiries of a routine nature.

Implement HR policies and procedures, monitoring employee observance and providing feedback to the Human ResourcesAdministration Manager to assist with revision as needed.

Generate HR correspondence, presentations, and other written materials as needed.

Maintain accurate and thorough HR personnel files, maintain compliant records retention system.

Qualifications

Associate degree and 2 years HR experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Bilingual language skills (Spanish and English) preferred

Knowledge of Federal and CA labor laws

Knowledge of recruitment, hiring, workers compensation processes

Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to handle stressful situations calmly

Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines with ease

Ability to establish and sustain positive working relationships at all levels of the organization

Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk. May be expected to lift and move containers weighing up to 25 lbs.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The Human Resources Generalist position is a full-time, exempt position which is eligible for a full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Chiropractic, 403(b) retirement, paid time off, and holiday pay). The starting pay for this position is $75,520 annually depending on experience.
