Human Resources Intern

We are looking for a SUMMER intern in Human Resources or Business Management. This position runs from early-May through mid-August at our location in Locust Valley, Nassau County.

This is a paid internship with lunch provided daily at no cost to you.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Works closely with the Human Resource Director to assist in the seasonal human resource function. Acts as lead administrator of the Junior Sports Group program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Onboard and move seasonal employees into our staff dormitory.

· Review sensitive documents, including passports, work visas, and licenses.

· Use H.R.I.S. system for recruitment, staff management, and payroll.

· Complete weekly payroll reports for management.

· Use NorthStar point-of-sale system to assist in Camp rosters.

· Assist in planning for the summer youth camp, including booking venues, transportation,

· Manage the registration process and billing for the summer camp.

· Interview applicants for various positions and make recommendations on their eligibility status.

· Conduct orientations for new staff, including training and tours of property.

· Monitor and update Connecteam workforce communication app

· Attend and offer input and data at committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree or in pursuit of a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or similar.

This is a great opportunity for a current college student majoring in any business program. It is not necessary to be on Long Island for the winter and spring hours.

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9-5 with possibly 2 weekend days during the summer. Overtime available in other departments.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 – 45 per week
