Job Summary: The Human Resource Manager is a dept-of-one and takes a hands-on approach to provide tactical and operational support to the business and field management teams. This role partners with the executive team to maintain compliance in all areas and drive organizational improvements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the compliance, management, and coordination of Benefits Administration for the Health & Welfare Benefits & 401(K) programs. This role also works with brokers on plan negotiations and changes, employee enrollments and billing issues.
  • Ensure the business is compliant with all state and federal HR and Benefit related laws and filings.
  • Ability to be the primary or secondary string for bi-weekly payroll processing cycles.
  • Interpret and update any company policies and procedures as needed by keeping current with laws and regulations.
  • Manages the employee life-cycle which includes onboarding and administrative tasks such as managing personnel files, performance management, leave of absence, offboarding, and the associated steps.
  • Maintains the upkeep and management of the HRIS (currently w/ Paylocity).
  • Manage the Workers’ Compensation process as needed.
  • Leads recruitment initiatives for all locations, and keeps current with market recruiting trends, company needs and metrics.
  • Ensures the integrity of the pre-employment processes and manages job descriptions as needed.
  • Support the business by partnering on Employee Relations issues including, coaching, training, and conducting employee investigations and provide discipline recommendations; including termination.
  • Unemployment claims main contact.
  • Partner with warehouse leadership regarding safety training programs for all warehouse personnel, which could include the design and implementation of topics or programs.
  • Manage and collaborate with any Direct Reports or temps reporting to the HR Department.
  • Local and throughout footprint travel if needed.
  • Any permanent or temporary duties assigned or needed for the functioning of the department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR management experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Solid compliance background with tactical back-office experience in benefits administration (self funded or fully funded) and payroll processing.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • A service-minded positive collaborator with the ability to work independently and self-manage work load.
