The HR Manager is a crucial leadership role responsible for all human resources aspects—for both contractors and employees. This position drives our commitment to being an extraordinary place to work, overseeing the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to payroll and managing the entire employment relationship.


Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll & Benefits: Independently manage and run payroll. Oversee, advise on, and address all aspects of benefits management, employment verification, garnishments, and unemployment claims. Oversee benefits implementation, questions, and open enrollment.

  • Compliance & Expertise: Serve as the company’s subject-matter expert on regulations and standards, guiding leadership through employee challenges. Cultivate resources to stay current on local and national HR changes.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Lead recruiting efforts, including posting openings, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, and fully onboarding new staff through New Hire Orientation. Analyze data for insights on improving hiring, retention, and work culture.
  • Employee Relations: Conduct employee investigations and present recommendations for next steps. Support in any employee corrective actions. Conduct exit interviews. Provide and collect data from engagement surveys.
  • Reporting & Systems: Complete a comprehensive HR Report to the CEO and Director of Operations monthly. Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all payroll, HR, HRIS maintenance, and database management.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership and tenacity, ability to “figure it out” while maintaining a positive first approach. Success requires an exceptional attention to detail ("Checks twice, cuts once"), confidence in uncomfortable employee/employer situations, and the ability to remain a neutral party. You must be flexible and a "Jack of all trades" to manage multi-tasking, last-minute changes, and emergencies.
