Job Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for all human resources functions of the organization. These include but are not limited to recruitment, hiring, benefits management, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, compliance, and training/development functions for the company. The Human Resources Manager should be an active leader in the development and implementation of projects, policies, and procedures across a broad range of HR functions for hourly and salaried employees across the company. The Human Resources Manager will act as back-up to the Human Resources Director.

ob Responsibilities

  • Recruits, prescreens, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions for Jewish Family Home Care.
  • Onboarding of all new hires, including in-office and caregivers
  • Supervise new employee onboarding/offboarding
  • Provide new supervisors with training in all HR related topics
  • Help handle open enrollment and employee benefits questions as needed. Help manage employee relations activities
  • Plan and implement employee activities aimed at improving the work environment and overall performance
  • Monitor and ensure all state/federal governmental and regulatory compliance activities related to Human Resources are strictly followed
  • Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures and other regulatory activities
  • Ensure disciplinary process is adequately followed when necessary and train the management team on its execution
  • Help implement (in concert with HR Director) employee retention strategies
  • Help manage and respond as needed to all administrative claims and legal claims, enlisting the help of a supervisor, legal counsel, or other senior management. Keep management informed on an ongoing basis and developments on matters.
  • Perform or participate in quality assurance and audit activities on all HR related matters
  • Fulfill any assigned responsibilities related to accreditation or licensure for the organization
  • Participates in the Performance Improvement (PI) program, when requested, to ensure effective implementation of the PI program goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education
Bachelor's in human resources is a plus. Certification in Human Resources in either SHRM or PHR is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years in a Human Resources management role is required. Three (3) years of experience in health care management, home care, or nonprofit management preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, deadline-oriented, organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness are required. Computer knowledge must include advanced Excel and other Microsoft applications, and Human resources software experience (HRIS, ATS). Knowledge of Paycom, Wellsky, or related systems is highly preferred.
