Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, efficient, and detail-oriented HR Manager with strong Human Resources experience and knowledge to oversee and manage key HR functions, including employee benefits administration, ACA reporting and compliance, HRIS management, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, applying strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to drive HR initiatives and improve processes. This role will report to the HR Director and serve as a vital resource for both HR operations and employees, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and a positive employee experience. Additionally, this role provides backup support for pre-boarding, payroll, and other HR operational functions as needed.

This role can be fully remote but must be based in the New England area to attend annual meetings.

What You’ll Be Doing At AMC

Benefits & Compliance

  • Oversee the administration and day-to-day management of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, voluntary benefits, and AMC-specific programs such as PTO and other internal benefit offerings.

  • Ensure compliance with ACA benefit management, reporting, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Conduct new hire benefit meetings with all full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees.

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and issue resolution.

HR Systems & Payroll Support

  • Manage and maintain the HRIS (currently Paycom), ensuring accurate employee data, reporting, and system functionality.

  • Prepare, process, and track Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for all employment changes—such as transfers, job and status changes, terminations, and any other actions requiring formal documentation.

  • Serve as a backup for payroll processing when necessary, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.

  • Prepare and analyze HR reports focused on compliance, internal audit needs, and workforce analytics to inform leadership decisions.

Employee Relations & HR Operations

  • Partner with managers to address employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Assist with pre-boarding and onboarding by monitoring and supporting the completion of required new hire paperwork to ensure full compliance, and act as a backup when the primary team member overseeing this process is unavailable.

  • Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and standard operating procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

  • Prepare and manage EEOC reporting.

  • Assist with recruitment and talent management initiatives as needed.

  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

What AMC Is Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with experience in benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee relations.

  • Experience with the Paycom HRIS system is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of ACA compliance and payroll processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to operate independently, applying expertise and judgment to perform tasks efficiently with limited direction or oversight.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with the ability to apply practical solutions.

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.

What AMC Can Offer You:

Salary: $57,528 - $77,622

We are committed to fair compensation practices. The initial salary represents our starting point, and our compensation philosophy is designed to reward and recognize the contributions of our employees as they grow within the organization. External candidates typically begin their journey with us at the starting point of the salary range. The final compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, competencies, and geographic differential relevant to the position, and will be discussed during the interview process.
