Statement of Purpose: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s human resources and personnel functions, maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, and ensure alignment with organizational strategy and mission. This role provides management, guidance, and oversight across all HR functions, benefits administration, performance management, and personnel policy development. The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary internal HR leader, strategic partner to leadership, and oversees HR staff.
Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily operations and functions of the Human Resources department.
- Provide oversight, leadership, and direction to HR staff.
- Provide collaboration and guidance to leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee relations matters.
- Lead and participate in enhancement, compliance and development of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEO, OSHA, etc.).
- Oversee employee personnel files, employee health records, I-9 records, and related items.
- Prepare and manage HR documentation for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance reviews.
- Support managers and supervisors with performance management, corrective actions, and documentation.
- Oversee recruitment strategy, hiring processes, and onboarding activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison with third-party payroll and benefits vendors.
- Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
- Oversee administration of employee leave programs, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and other applicable leaves.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Education/Professional:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working directly in human resources, preferably in a non-profit and/or healthcare setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing HR staff.
- Demonstrated experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and benefits administration.
- Certification in SHRM is strongly preferred or HRCI/PHR required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to details.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently, self-starting and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a fast paced environment and be highly adaptable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong Excel skills for reporting, data analysis, and workforce tracking.
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), payroll, and timekeeping platforms.
- Familiarity with benefits administration systems and open enrollment platforms
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment
Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Must have reliable transportation
