Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all core HR functions, including payroll administration, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, employee relations, and talent acquisition. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies while fostering a positive, productive workplace culture. The HR Manager serves as a strategic partner to leadership and a trusted resource for employees.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & HRIS Administration
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain and optimize HRIS systems for employee data, reporting, and compliance
- Audit payroll, deductions, and tax filings; coordinate with finance as needed
Benefits Administration
- Manage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, and leave programs
- Lead open enrollment processes and employee education efforts
- Liaise with brokers and vendors to evaluate and enhance benefits offerings
- Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations
Workers’ Compensation & Safety
- Administer workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, and return-to-work programs
- Partner with managers to investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions
- Work with Safety manager to ensure compliance with OSHA and maintain workplace safety programs
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations
- Coach managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment laws
- Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement initiatives
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop recruitment strategies
- Manage employer branding and candidate experience
- Track recruiting metrics and improve hiring processes
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights for decision-making
- Lead or support HR projects such as performance management, training, and organizational development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including payroll and benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Paycom,ADP, Paylocity, UKG, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- Experience in a mid-size or multi-state organization
