Human Resources Officer/Manager
OVERVIEW
This is a full-time position at a transportation company in Burlington, IA. This position involves recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the recruitment process by coordinating job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating onboarding activities to ensure a seamless hiring experience.
- Preparation of payroll and hours of service tracking.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, mediating conflicts and promoting open communication to cultivate a positive work environment.
- Administer HR policies and procedures consistently across the organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Manage employee records meticulously, including attendance, benefits enrollment, and disciplinary actions, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail – Ensure precise payroll calculations and recordkeeping.
- Confidentiality – Protecting sensitive employee and company information.
- Dependability – Meeting deadlines and following through on tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of an associate’s degree pertaining to HR.
- 5 + Years of HR experience
- Prior Railroad Experience is beneficial but not required.
WORK HOURS/SHIFT
- Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
WAGE
- Salary starting at $65,000
