POSITION SUMMARY: Manage all elements of employee relations, training, recruiting, hiring, and labor relations along with the facility Affirmative Action and Safety Programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work every scheduled workday including weekends and overtime as required.
- Understand and comply with all PPE requirements at all times, work safely every day and encourage all team members to do the same.
- Develop and administer Human Resources plans, policies and procedures (corporate and/or facility) for all facility personnel.
- Prepare timekeeping functions in ERP system for accurate payroll processing
- Implement and manage compliance to all personnel policies and procedures, including Employee Handbook, benefits administration, FMLA, Affirmative Action Plan, facility wage scales, safety rules, etc.
- Manage the recruitment process for all facility jobs and the plan for new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Develop and manage Workforce Development Programs for all facility personnel.
- Champion with Safety Manager the facility safety program.
- Establish and maintain departmental records/reports and report out as required at facility and/or corporate meetings.
- Evaluate department reports, decisions, and results in relation to established goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvements in efficiency and timing of services performed.
- Represent management in investigating, answering, and settling employee claims, grievances, disputes, etc.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from governmental agencies, such as EEOC and NLRB.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly and yearly paperwork and reports as required.
- Provide training and assistance to other employees as assigned.
- Follow action and communication protocols for nonstandard deviation in processes.
- Support facility operations staff and perform other duties as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on UKG, and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. XA ERP a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Human Resources’ processes/procedures.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the facility.
- Solid analytical and planning skills.
- Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
- Strong team builder and player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Three to five years’ experience in HR Management.
- Experience in a Union environment preferred
- SHRM certification preferred.
- Advanced degree in a related field a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas were all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment.
- For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting or standing as needed.
- Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
- Reaching, pushing, pulling or lifting as required within limits set by Entrans International LLC.
