Overview

We are a vertically integrated, fast-moving apparel manufacturing company operating factory, dye, sewing, warehouse, and retail environments in Los Angeles. Our brands include premium Made-in-USA apparel sold through wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.

We are seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Manager to lead and strengthen our HR function within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role estimated at approximately 20–25 hours per week. Hybrid structure with required in-person presence once a week minimum, to support factory and warehouse teams.

This is not transactional HR.
This is operational HR.

You will partner directly with Ownership and Executive Leadership to build structure, ensure compliance, protect the company, and strengthen our culture while supporting a high-performance, deadline-driven production environment.

What You’ll OwnPeople & Culture Leadership

  • Lead HR strategy aligned with company growth and operational goals
  • Support workforce planning across factory, warehouse, and corporate teams
  • Strengthen accountability and performance culture
  • Coach managers on documentation, discipline, and communication
  • Support organizational structure and succession planning

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

  • Oversee recruiting for manufacturing, warehouse, retail, and corporate roles
  • Manage compliant onboarding and I-9 documentation
  • Implement structured performance review processes
  • Support training initiatives for supervisors and leads

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with:
  • California Labor Law
  • Wage & Hour regulations
  • OSHA standards
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • FMLA / CFRA
  • Oversee employee relations matters and investigations
  • Manage disciplinary processes and terminations
  • Maintain employee handbook and HR policies
  • Ensure proper classification of employees vs. independent contractors

Payroll & Benefits Oversight

  • Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance (ADP, Paychex, Paylocity or similar)
  • Support benefits administration including health insurance and 401(k)
  • Monitor overtime and wage compliance practices

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Manage HRIS systems
  • Track key HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, overtime, claims)
  • Provide reporting to leadership
  • Improve HR documentation and workflow systems

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8+ years HR leadership experience
  • Direct experience in apparel manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments (required)
  • Strong knowledge of California labor law
  • Experience managing employee relations and terminations
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
  • Comfortable supporting blue-collar production teams
  • Organized, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
