Human Resources & Payroll Assistant

Overview

This is an entry level role focused primarily on supporting payroll operations while gaining hands-on experience in Human Resources. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while assisting with essential HR functions such as onboarding, employee records, and administrative support.

Duties

  • Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verification of employee information, and ensuring timely and accurate pay.
  • Review timecards and attendance records, identifying and resolving basic discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update employee records within payroll systems.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, timekeeping, and basic HR questions; escalate more complex issues as needed.
  • Support onboarding activities, including new hire documentation and orientation coordination.
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollments and employee updates.
  • Support HR compliance by maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and other administrative HR tasks as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in administrative, payroll, or HR-related roles (or relevant education/training).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers and data.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with payroll systems is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
