Human resources payroll manager

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Human Resources Payroll Manager and lead the strategic and operational functions of payroll administration within a thriving organization. This energetic role offers the opportunity to oversee payroll processes, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, and implement innovative HR solutions that enhance employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency. As a key member of the HR leadership team, you will drive process improvements, manage complex payroll systems, and foster a positive employee experience through effective communication and strategic planning.

Duties

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, or equivalent HRIS systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, workers' compensation, and other employee benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, including FMLA, OSHA regulations, and labor standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts by collaborating with recruiting teams to attract top talent through effective sourcing strategies and employer branding initiatives.
  • Supervise payroll staff and HR professionals to maintain high standards of performance management, employee relations, and training & development.
  • Conduct data analysis for payroll trends, budgeting forecasts, and process improvement opportunities to optimize HR operations.
  • Develop and implement policies related to HR sourcing, organization design, succession planning, and change management to support organizational growth.
  • Handle complex negotiations related to contracts, employee evaluations, conflict management issues, and performance improvement plans.
  • Facilitate employee orientation sessions and ongoing training programs to promote understanding of HR policies and compliance standards.
  • Monitor HRIS data integrity and utilize platforms such as Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, Taleo, Paylocity or Dayforce for efficient human capital management.

Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience leading payroll teams or HR departments in fast-paced environments with a focus on process improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources management practices including talent management, employee relations, benefits administration, and organizational design.
  • Strong understanding of employment & labor law (including FMLA), OSHA regulations, workers' compensation procedures, and compliance standards across multiple regions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, Ceridian (Dayforce), UltiPro (Ultimate Software), Kronos (UKG), Oracle HCM or SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Skilled in data collection and analysis with the ability to interpret complex datasets for strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership on HR program outcomes and process improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in sensitive areas such as contracts and negotiations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms like Workday or Paylocity combined with proficiency in budgeting and process enhancement initiatives. Pay: $65,887.34 - $79,348.20 per year
