The City of Lynwood is seeking a strategic, analytical, and service-driven Human Resources & Risk Analyst to help strengthen the City’s workforce systems and protect organizational integrity. THE TEAM
Reporting to the HR Director, the Human Resources & Risk Analyst joins a collaborative four-member HR team supporting approximately 150 full-time employees across multiple departments. This structure provides meaningful exposure to executive-level decision-making while allowing for hands-on impact.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Design and implement innovative recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to attract top-tier public sector professionals.
- Conduct classification studies and compensation analyses that support equitable and competitive pay structures.
- Support labor negotiations and provide guidance on contract interpretation and employee relations matters.
- Strengthen compliance programs related to EEO, ADA, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate Workers’ Compensation and general liability claims to reduce exposure and improve outcomes.
- Advance safety initiatives and loss prevention strategies across departments.
- Support CalPERS retirement processes and benefits administration with accuracy and professionalism.
- Prepare data-driven staff reports and executive memoranda that inform policy decisions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent qualifying experience).
EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATION
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible Human Resources and/or Risk Management experience in a governmental setting.
- PSHRA and/or SHRM HR Certification highly desired, but not required.
