The HR Specialist for Classified Staff supports and assists with the smooth and efficient operation of the Human Resource office by performing a wide variety of duties that include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining classified staff such as paraprofessionals, substitute paraprofessionals, secretaries, van drivers, security guards, CNA's, and other hourly employees.
Essential Functions
1. Assists with the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of paraprofessionals and professional technical hourly
employees.
2. Coordinates the daily placement of substitute paraprofessionals and other hourly staff.
3. Maintains and updates employee personnel records as needed.
4. Works closely with the Business office on bi-weekly employee payroll and other functions.
5. Assists the summer school administrators in the hiring of summer school support staff.
6. Serves as an advocate and support to district paraprofessionals, professional technical hourly employees, and all MPS staff.
7. Provides assistance and support to HR staff as needed.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
2. Experience desired: Previous secretarial experience or equivalent preferred
3. Other requirements:
Length of contract: 12-month
Hourly Rate (minimum): $19.11
