Human Resources/Finance Assistant Manager

Texas Public Safety and Investigations is looking for an Accounting Specialist to manage our growing organization. Texas Public Safety and Investigations is a Public Safety staffing agency providing Security Officers, Medical Staff, Fire Protection Personell, and Law Enforcement to public and private sector venues in Texas, Louisianna, Kansas and several other states.

Accounting Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the accounting department in daily, monthly and annual activities
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, invoices and receipts
  • Using documents to verify, record and process transactions
  • Updating all accounts recievable and documenting payment transactions
  • Processing payroll and correcting pay issues of employees and contractors
  • Completing state documentation for accuracy
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Managing all aspects of Quickbooks online accounting.
  • Ensuring all Local, State, and Federal Taxes are paid and the business remains in good standing with the IRS, Secretary of State, Comptroller and County departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job brief

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Manger for Human Resources/Finance who will analyze financial information, maintain complete records while adhering to the very strict standards governed by the state of Texas and internal polices.

Position responsibilities include keeping accurate records of all incoming and outgoing payments, handling payroll tasks as required, processing timesheets and government compliance documentation, updating employee personnel files, teaching new hire onboarding and orientation training, assisting with preparing insurance audits and tax documents as needed.

Ultimately, you will ensure that invoices get paid by clients, contractors and employees get paid by us, taxes and fees to the government are paid by us, and you keep accurate records of uncollected debts from customers.

Responsibilities

  • Speak with vendors and clients to ensure charges are accurate, and payments are received promptly
  • Review and audit financial reports
  • Communicate with contractors and employees to set up benefits, payments and reslove disputes in pay statuses, amounts or other discrepancies
  • Participate in ongoing education opportunities to learn about industry trends and developments
  • Process payroll and timesheets
  • Create and send invoices
  • Keep detailed and accurate Quickbooks records

Requirements

  • 2 or more years work experience as in Human Resources or Finance or similar role
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online Skills
  • Ability to Type 35 WPM or greater (Typing Test will be Administered)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or higher degree in accounting or finance, Business, Organizational Management or a related field
  • Willingness to complete Basic Security Officer Training Course (This is not negotiable)
  • Work in an Office or Mobile Setting at least 5 days per week. (Working from home is not permitted)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,600.00 per year
