Human Resource/Payroll Specialist
Introduction:
The Housing Authority of the Town of Hamden is seeking a Human Resource/Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Department. The primary responsibility of the individual associated with this position is fiduciary accuracy of all monetary accounts for the daily operations of the Housing Authority. These accounts include, but may not be limited to, project operating accounts, insurance accounts, payroll accounts, retirement (401K) accounts, workers compensation accounts, accounts receivable and payable, all Section 8 programs, and other office duties. The individual reports directly to the Office Manager.
Duties:
Responsibility associated with the Human Resource/Payroll Specialist is as follows; payroll processing, data accuracy, and HR administration, taxes, accounts, perform tenant rent calculations for the State Elderly, Affordable and Congregate housing programs. The individual must be responsible for detailed knowledge of the various benefits offered to employees such as health, dental, retirement, vacation/sick leave. The individual also maintains records that advise employees of the sick/vacation/personal leave balances available.
Required Skills:
A minimum of Associates Degree and three (3) years of experience, or five (5) years experience in the financial field is required. The individual must be able to maintain confidential information.
Salary depends on prior work experience.
