HV Technician (High Voltage)

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced HV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, with thorough knowledge of switchgear, transformers, MCCB, ACB, protection systems, and electrical maintenance activities.

The candidate should be capable of working independently, diagnosing faults, and ensuring safe and reliable operation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HV & LV electrical systems
• Handling HV/LV switchgear, transformers, RMU, and panels
• Installation, testing, and maintenance of MCCB, ACB, ELCB, relays, and protection devices
• Fault finding and rectification in power distribution systems
• Preventive and corrective maintenance as per schedules
• Reading and interpreting single line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and electrical drawings
• Performing insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and other electrical measurements
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, procedures, and permit-to-work systems
• Coordinating with engineers and site teams during shutdowns and maintenance works
• Preparing basic maintenance and fault reports

Requirements:

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 4–6 years of proven experience in HV & LV electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of:
• High Voltage systems
• Low Voltage distribution
• MCCB, ACB, relays, panels, and protection systems
• Transformers, RMU, and switchgears
• Good understanding of electrical safety practices
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Valid QID with transferable visa (preferred)
• Immediate joiners preferred

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in industrial, utility, or power generation environments
• Knowledge of testing and commissioning
• Basic understanding of generators and electrical auxiliaries
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR5,000.00 per month
