HVAC and Plumbing Purchasing Agent

Position: HVAC Purchasing Agent

Location: Corporate Office and Distribution Center, New Bedford, MA

General Company Information: Plumbers’ Supply Company (www.plumberssupplyco.com) is a growth oriented, privately held plumbing and heating wholesaler with 17 branch locations and 3 retail showrooms throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. We are currently seeking a highly skilled, results-oriented individual to join our team.

Position Overview: You will provide support for day-to-day operating activities of the company primarily through product procurement and supply chain management. In this position, you will have the opportunity to interact with high-level branch personnel and members of senior management on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels to ensure appropriate in-stock quantities to maintain customer service levels
• Negotiate contracts and purchases with current and potential suppliers
• Identify products with the best combination of quality and price
• Develop purchasing strategies to increase company profitability
• Work with receiving department and suppliers to resolve shipping discrepancies and damage

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask and collaborate across functions
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with plumbing and heating products is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
