HVAC Apprentice

Job Summary

Duties

• Assist experienced technicians with installing HVAC systems according to schematics and design specifications
• Support routine maintenance tasks on heating, cooling, refrigeration, and plumbing equipment to ensure optimal operation
• Learn to troubleshoot HVAC/R systems using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
• Help with repairing and replacing mechanical components in appliances, boilers, and refrigeration units
• Participate in field service activities including customer site visits for system inspections and minor repairs
• Follow safety protocols during welding, equipment repair, and other technical procedures
• Aid in reading schematics and technical manuals to understand system layouts and operational procedures

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of construction principles and mechanical systems
• Prior experience as a service technician or in property maintenance is a plus
• Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design concepts, and plumbing systems
• Exposure to refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is advantageous
• Mechanical aptitude with understanding of HVAC/R equipment operation and repair techniques
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical components
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver experience preferred
• Willingness to learn welding techniques and perform equipment repairs in various settings
• Strong interest in developing skills related to air conditioning, boiler operation, and mechanical maintenance
