What This Role Is (read this first)

This is a design-focused mechanical engineering role within an MEP consulting environment, working on HVAC systems for commercial and institutional buildings.

***** This is NOT a maintenance, facilities, or installation role.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Design HVAC systems for building projects (schools, civic, commercial)
• Perform load calculations and energy modeling (Trace, HAP, ComCheck or similar)
• Develop layouts and construction documents in Revit
• Work directly with architects and project teams
• Support projects from design through completion

What You’ve Likely Been Doing

• Working at an MEP consulting or building design firm
• Designing HVAC systems (not servicing or installing them)
• Using Revit and load calculation tools regularly
• Contributing to commercial or institutional building projects

Must-Have Experience

• HVAC system design in building design / MEP environment
• Experience with load calculations (Trace, HAP, ComCheck or similar)
• Experience with Revit (preferred) or AutoCAD-based design workflows
• ~5–10 years of experience

Nice to Have

• PE license (or working toward it)
• Experience with commercial / civic / educational projects
• Ability to mentor junior staff
