Overview:
Clear Air Conditioning is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 4 Residential HVAC Installer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible not only for installing HVAC systems with precision and care but also for leading and mentoring a team of installers to uphold our high standards of quality and efficiency.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship and has the leadership skills to elevate those around them. This is a piece-rate position, meaning compensation is based on production and completed work rather than hourly pay. Additionally, we strongly encourage candidates to bring or recommend an apprentice to work alongside them. Reports To: Installation Manager

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be drug-free and able to pass new hire and random drug screenings.
  • Demonstrate willingness to invest in and maintain tools used in the installation of HVAC equipment.
  • Demonstrate willingness to invest time in training to advance position.
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to train Level 1-3 installers.
  • Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
  • Ability to follow Safety Guidelines:
  • Safely work with heights and in tight working conditions from extension and step ladders.
  • Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
  • Ability to use safe lifting procedures.
  • Ability to use full range of body motion: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, bending and twisting.
  • Ability to safely navigate attic spaces without stepping, damaging or falling through ceiling.
  • Ability to understand safety guidelines of sheet metal fabricating equipment and machines.
  • Ability to safely install gas lines & fittings.
  • Ability to safely and responsibly install refrigerant lines.
  • Ability to safely and responsibly operate Clear Air Vehicles, Lifts and Trailers.
  • Must have all Level 1,2 & 3 qualifications in addition to the following:
  • Level 4 tools.
  • Pass NATE core test
  • Advanced understanding of layout, design, fabrication and installation
  • Valid EPA Certification
  • Proficient at residential and light commercial installations
  • Advanced Safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings
  • Basic fabrication knowledge of sheet metal fittings
  • Size and draw duct work correctly Start up and trouble shoot furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps and condensing units
  • Good understanding of line and low voltage wiring, relays, transformers, wiring diagrams
  • Excellent customer relations skills and an open mind to think outside of the box
  • Enroll in extra training to further knowledge of the HVAC industry and management, 16 hours required
  • Ability to train entry level personal

Regular Duties:

  • Purchase, replace and maintain required tools as listed for HVAC Installer level 4
  • Arrive at jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched.
  • Supervise and be responsible for other installers
  • Follow instructions from Supervisor and carry out in timely manner
  • Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
  • Operate and maintain company vehicle to Clear Air standards
  • Participate in truck inventory inspections
  • Work well with customers, co-workers and subcontractors
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Work staggered schedule if required.
  • Run and work a job from start to finish without supervision.
  • Unload/load truck supplies and equipment
  • Complete jobs within the labor budget
  • Demonstrate proficiency in customer service, written/verbal communication and team-work skills with Contractor, Homeowner, Representatives, Supervisors, Co-Workers and other Sub-Contractors on job sites.
  • Assist with retro-fit and commercial installations upon request from supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in employee meetings, trainings
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Performance Indicators:

Certain key business indicators that will measure effectiveness of the HVAC Installer Level 4. These include:

  • · Timeliness of work.
  • Customer satisfaction.
  • · Number of times projects are not installed on schedule.
  • · Number of time Supervisor was not advised of projects behind schedule.
  • · Efficiency in producing shop items by providing accurate drawings and dimensions.
  • · Number of call backs on workmanship.
  • · Cleanliness and organization of work site and work vehicle.
  • · Accuracy of paperwork including time cards.
  • · Number of times fittings are built and/or installed incorrectly.
  • · Number of tool/equipment breaks due to lack of maintenance or proper use.
  • · Number of Inspection or Quality Control Failures.
  • Level of demonstrated desire to learn.
  • Level to which dress code is adhered.
  • Level to which company procedures are adhered to.
  • Level to which safety policy is adhered to.

Working Conditions:

Varying work conditions exist with this position. Uncontrolled environments included with this position are: Job Sites in various phases of construction, Highways/Roadways used with Company Vehicles, Homes owned by Customers including various and intrinsic hazards, Exposure to Weather Conditions. Controlled Environment includes the Air Mechanical Shops/Offices/Warehouses which are maintained in a safe manner.

Physical Demands:

· While performing duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, stoop, balance on feet, talk, hear, squat, climb, reach above their head and drive company vehicle

· They will use their hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

· Employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing 50-100 lbs.

· Use of vision abilities include, close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
