Cactus Ridge Services is looking for an experienced HVAC Lead Technician to help lead, build, and grow our HVAC department. We are a full-service mechanical company offering HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services, and we are looking for the right person to take ownership, set the standard, and grow with us.

This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, hungry to grow, honest, dependable, and proud of doing high-quality work. We are looking for a technician with strong field experience who can handle both new construction HVAC installations and service calls, while also helping develop processes, train others, and support the growth of the HVAC side of our business.

Position Overview

The HVAC Lead Technician will be responsible for managing and performing HVAC installations, service, startups, troubleshooting, and customer-facing work. This person must be capable of reading layouts, planning jobs, ordering materials, completing installations, performing system startups, and handling service calls with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and perform HVAC installations for new construction projects.
  • Read and understand plans, layouts, and job specifications.
  • Lay out HVAC systems according to project requirements.
  • Order materials, equipment, and supplies needed for jobs.
  • Install HVAC equipment, ductwork, linesets, thermostats, ventilation, and related components.
  • Perform system startups, testing, and commissioning.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
  • Handle residential and/or light commercial HVAC service calls.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, builders, project managers, and team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
  • Help train, guide, and support other HVAC team members as the department grows.
  • Represent Cactus Ridge Services with professionalism, honesty, and a positive attitude.
  • Help build systems, standards, and best practices for the HVAC department.
  • Take ownership of assigned jobs from layout through completion.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Minimum 3 years of HVAC installation and service experience.
  • Experience with both HVAC installs and service work.
  • Ability to complete new construction HVAC installations from layout to startup.
  • Ability to read plans, layouts, and job specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to order and manage materials for assigned jobs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead others when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
