HVAC Maintenance & Service Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic HVAC Maintenance & Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional service across a variety of commercial and residential properties. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
• Conduct system inspections to identify potential problems and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Install new HVAC equipment, including ductwork, thermostats, and control systems, following HVAC design specifications.
• Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and refrigeration units, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Utilize welding skills for equipment repair or modification when necessary.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for each job performed.
• Operate vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between job sites.
• Adhere to safety protocols related to ammonia refrigeration systems and other hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure all systems meet operational standards and regulatory requirements.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on HVAC/R systems or related mechanical fields.
• Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding building systems integration.
• Strong mechanical knowledge covering appliances repair, boiler operation, welding techniques, and equipment repair.
• Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
• Hands-on experience with field service operations across commercial or residential settings.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles and property maintenance practices is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
