HVAC Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic property maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, and related mechanical systems across multiple properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for building occupants while supporting the overall efficiency of our facilities. Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
  • Conduct service calls for HVAC/R equipment failures, diagnosing issues related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing, and appliance repair.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade HVAC components and mechanical systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Utilize welding skills and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace damaged parts or equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose problems and implement solutions.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance logs for compliance and future reference.

Skills

  • Strong construction background with experience in property maintenance and equipment repair.
  • Proven service technician experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and appliance repair.
  • Ability to read schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals effectively.
  • Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, welding techniques, field service operations, and general equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing.
  • Experience working with a variety of mechanical systems in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, drivers preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to HVAC/R work environments including handling refrigerants safely. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
