HVAC Maintenance Technician

Overview
Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Maintenance Technician and become a vital part of maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems for our portfolio here in CT. In this role, you'll leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize HVAC equipment. In addition, there may be basic repair tickets that will be in addition to your HVAC work.

Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, and ammonia refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose issues using schematics, technical manuals, and testing tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults accurately.
  • Repair or replace mechanical components, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, and refrigeration parts to restore optimal system performance.
  • Conduct field service visits to client sites for appliance repair, HVAC/R troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
  • Read and interpret HVAC design plans and schematics to ensure proper installation and repairs are executed efficiently.
  • Utilize welding skills when necessary for metal repairs or component fabrication.
  • Maintain detailed service logs, work orders, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, or property maintenance.
  • Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment including boilers, chillers, air conditioning units, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems effectively.
  • Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing instruments.
  • Experience with equipment repair involving welding or mechanical adjustments is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for certain roles.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites and field service environments.
  • Additional certifications in HVAC design or appliance repair are a plus; experience with mechanical systems like boilers or mechanics is advantageous. Pay: From $31.00 per hour
