Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, and related mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
- Perform repairs on HVAC/R equipment, plumbing systems, appliances, and other building mechanical components to restore optimal function.
- Install new HVAC systems or upgrade existing setups in compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Utilize HVAC design principles and schematics to interpret system layouts for effective servicing and modifications.
- Operate welding equipment and perform minor fabrication tasks when necessary for repairs or system modifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection logs to ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC maintenance, construction, or property maintenance environments.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and familiarity with HVAC/R standards.
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, pumps, ductwork, piping (including plumbing), and related equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for troubleshooting and installation tasks.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and equipment repair.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and safety procedures for equipment repair or fabrication projects.
- Strong field service skills with the ability to work independently in diverse environments while maintaining safety protocols.
