We're working with a well-established, nationally recognised mechanical design/build contractor with a strong track record across complex HVAC and process piping projects. They're looking for a Project Manager with solid HVAC experience to join their team in Downers Grove, IL. This is a broad, commercially varied role where you'll take ownership of projects from estimating through to close-out - working closely with clients, design teams, and field staff in a truly integrated design/build environment.

What you'll be doing

• Managing the full lifecycle of mechanical and/or process piping projects - estimating, scheduling, quality control, cost reporting, and close-out
• Gathering project requirements directly from clients and facilitating preparation of working drawings
• Preparing and submitting project proposals, both independently and alongside senior management
• Attending client meetings to present proposals and address questions on cost, design, and scope
• Managing RFIs, change orders, and submittals throughout each project
• Overseeing internal project accounting and tracking cost status across live projects
• Planning, coordinating, and maintaining effective field operations and teams
• Managing project close-out and warranty issues as they arise

What we're looking for

• 2–7+ years of experience in HVAC project management; design/build experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong communication skills - comfortable presenting to clients and coordinating across internal teams
• Analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflict effectively
• Flexibility to travel to client sites nationwide as needed
