HVAC Project Manager (SCA Specialist)
Are you an expert at navigating the complexities of New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) projects? Do you have the technical grit to oversee large-scale HVAC installations from design to closeout?
We are looking for a high-level HVAC Project Manager who thrives in the rigorous, fast-paced environment of public school infrastructure. If you know the difference between a standard commercial build and the "SCA Way," we want to talk to you.
The Role
As our Lead HVAC Project Manager, you won't just be managing tasks; you’ll be the primary driver for multi-million dollar mechanical contracts. You will oversee site supervisors, coordinate with sub-contractors, and act as the lead liaison with SCA Project Officers.
Key Responsibilities
- SCA Compliance: Ensure all work meets the stringent SCA Standard Specifications and Bulletins.
- Project Lifecycle: Manage the full scope of HVAC projects, including VRF systems, chillers, boilers, and complex ductwork.
- Financial Oversight: Drive the "Schedule of Values," manage change orders, and ensure timely progress payments via SCA-specific software.
- Safety & Quality: Enforce Site Safety Plans and lead the Quality Control process for all mechanical installations.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate with equipment manufacturers and manage long-lead time deliveries to keep projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- The "Must-Have": At least 5+ years of experience specifically managing SCA HVAC projects.
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of NYC Mechanical and Energy Codes.
- Software Savvy: Proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore, or SCA-specific reporting tools.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour (Construction) and SST Card are required. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is a major plus.
- The Mindset: You are detail-oriented enough to catch a submittal error but big-picture enough to hit a hard "School Opening" deadline.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive Salary: We pay for expertise.
- Growth: We have a robust pipeline of public works projects through 2030.
- Stability: Work on essential infrastructure that shapes the future of NYC’s students.
