About the Role
We are hiring a Commercial HVAC-R Service Technician with at least 2 years of solo, in-field experience (commercial or residential). Techs with residential backgrounds are welcome—we will provide commercial-specific training, coaching, and certification pathways.
This role is a strong fit for someone who likes structure, accountability, and clear processes, and who takes pride in accurate documentation, consistent follow-through, and delivering high‑quality work.
What You’ll Do Here
You will play a key role in delivering dependable service to our commercial customers by:
1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC/R systems
Perform systematic diagnostics on commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment. Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and execute repairs to restore proper system operation.
2. Perform routine and preventive maintenance
Inspect, clean, calibrate, and test system components (mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration). Document findings, deficiencies, and recommendations and communicate them clearly to customers and office personnel.
3. Install and replace system components
Safely install, remove, or replace parts such as motors, compressors, coils, pumps, controls, and piping using proper tools, techniques, and manufacturer specifications. Includes brazing, soldering, wiring, and refrigerant handling.
4. Complete accurate documentation and maintain inventory
Record service notes, diagnostic results, materials used, and recommendations in company systems. Maintain an accurate vehicle stock, follow purchasing procedures, and ensure proper handling of materials and refrigerants.
5. Perform physically demanding work, including ladder use and material handling
Use ladders, lifts, and platforms to access equipment on rooftops or in mechanical spaces. Safely lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment up to 50+ pounds. Work in varying environments including hot/cold conditions, tight spaces, and elevated areas.
You’ll work closely with a supportive operations and dispatch team so you never feel like you’re on an island.
