HVAC Service and Install Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to perform scheduled service, maintenance, and system evaluations. This role requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and the ability to identify sales opportunities while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all scheduled service and maintenance calls on time
  • Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism
  • Accurately document all service details, inventory usage, and customer interactions
  • Enter clear and concise notes into FSM for every customer visit
  • Coordinate installation scheduling with the Production Manager
  • Track and manage personal sales leads and opportunities
  • Maintain company vehicle in clean, professional condition (subject to inspection)
  • Attend all required company meetings and training sessions
  • Follow proper grooming and professional appearance standards
  • Maintain a clean driving record

Customer Service & Call Process:

  • Arrive promptly to every call
  • Conduct thorough system evaluations and identify customer needs
  • Educate customers on system performance and available options
  • Present recommendations clearly and without bias
  • Provide written estimates and recommendations when necessary
  • Set and coordinate sales leads when appropriate
  • Communicate call outcomes and follow-up needs with the office

Performance Expectations:

  • Convert at least 10% of service calls into equipment sales leads
  • Convert at least 5% of service calls into IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) opportunities
  • Maintain a callback ratio of 7% or less
  • Achieve a minimum average ticket of $295
  • Meet or exceed monthly maintenance agreement sales goals (annual target: 315 agreements)

Regular Schedule:

  • Monday–Saturday: 7:00 AM -Completion of Route
  • Flexible days off as needed upon request or schedule day off during the week- can discuss upon hire

On-Call Rotation: (TBD upon hire)

  • Monday–Sunday: 24-hour availability during assigned rotation

Required Tools:

Technicians are responsible for maintaining their own tools, including but not limited to:

  • Multi-meter, vacuum pump, gauges (R-22 & R-410A), thermometer
  • Power drill, hand tools, cutters, snips, wrenches
  • Leak detector, nitrogen tank, Freon scale
  • Ladder, flashlight, shop vacuum
  • And other standard HVAC diagnostic and installation tools

The company will provide some items including supplies, but tools are the responsibility of the technician

Qualifications:

  • Proven HVAC service and repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Work Environment:
This position requires fieldwork in residential and/or light commercial settings, including exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and equipment handling.

Additional Expectations:

  • Maintain organization and readiness for all service calls
  • Carry necessary materials including brochures, financing applications, and uniforms
  • Accurately log and report all sales leads and customer interactions
  • Collaborate effectively with CSR team and sales staff

Compensation:

On average our service techs make $90-100k a year. Your salary will be commissions based. Commission may vary based on what services you sell.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
