Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems (compressors, fans, motors, thermostats).
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, clean components, and replace filters/parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Installation: Install new HVAC equipment, including ductwork, according to blueprints and building codes.
- Customer Service: Explain technical issues to customers, recommend repairs, and maintain a professional, clean image.
- Documentation: Document all service calls, maintenance, and material usage in a management system. SLCC +9
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant handling is usually required.
- Experience: Previous experience as an HVAC technician (often 1–3 years).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work in tight or extreme temperature environments
