HVAC Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

• This position is primarily responsible for supporting HVAC products installed at customer facilities. Support of these products includes start-up, training, trouble shooting and repair.
• This is a field service position and the candidate is expected to travel to job sites in the Somerset County and surrounding areas
• The company provides ongoing training

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HVAC equipment

This will include: start-up of newly installed equipment, training of customer personnel, troubleshooting and repair of installed equipment, replacement and / or installation or equipment, preventative maintenance of equipment.

As a service technician the candidate is expected to arrive on-time to the assigned call fully prepared to perform the assigned task in a timely fashion. There are multiple calls in a day and managing the schedule is important

Some paid overtime work is required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

The candidate should be capable of performing a full range of field work using hand tools, test equipment, digital meters and computers
Strong aptitude for mechanical and electrical equipment
Ability to communicate in writing
Ability to communicate orally in person and over the phone
Ability to use a computer including email, spreadsheets, file transfers and other communication protocols
Must be punctual, responsible and enthusiastic.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibly operate and manage company vehicles
Responsibly manage and maintain company tools
Accurately record and present call reports in a timely fashion
Provide suggestions for repairs and improvements to customers’ equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Technical training or past experience is a plus
• Technical troubleshooting and problem solving
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Well organized, task oriented, diligently manage multiple priorities and able to manage deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information
• Highly motivated to succeed

Pay: $18.00 - $50.00 per hour
