Position Summary:
The HVAC Service Technician role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial HVAC systems while providing excellent service to our customers. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, organized, and capable of communicating repair solutions in a professional and clear manner.
Responsibilities:

• Diagnose HVAC system issues and communicate findings to customers in a clear, non-technical way
• Perform service repairs, including replacing thermostats, compressors, transformers, motors, and other components
• Clean and calibrate air handling units, reheat coils, and perform ductwork cleaning to improve air quality
• Complete preventative maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment
• Perform warranty services and emergency repairs as needed
• Ensure proper operation of condensation drain lines and system ventilation
• Keep accurate service records, logs, and documentation
• Maintain service truck inventory, cleanliness, and readiness
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress, parts ordering, and challenges

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of HVAC service experience
• Current New Mexico Journeyman Plumbing License preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical diagnostics
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and work plans
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined areas
• Physically able to lift 50+ lbs. and perform job functions in various weather conditions
• Must be able to participate in a monthly rotating on-call schedule (7 consecutive days, 24-hour availability for emergency calls)
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours as required

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
• Regularly required to work in small, confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics
• Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders and rooftops
• Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions depending on job site
• May encounter dust, debris, insulation, and other materials typical of residential and commercial job sites
