HVAC Service Technician

Classification: Non-exempt

Salary Grade: The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00–$35.00, commensurate with experience, education, and other job-related factors.

Summary

A family run organization with several branches strategically located within the Northeast, Buckley represents over 42 different product lines and manufactures over 30 HVAC products in our Manufacturing facility located in Hanover Massachusetts. We are actively seeking a well-spoken, organized HVAC Service Technician capable of providing a high level of technical support who can perform factory-certified equipment startups. This would include but not limited to: VRF Systems (Variable Refrigerant Flow), Tempered Air Products (DOAS, energy recovery, make up air systems), gas detection equipment, terminal equipment chilled beams and semi-custom air handlers, Lab Controls, VFD’s, and room pressure controllers


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and review submittals, wiring diagrams, installation and operation manuals
  • Review and understand Microsoft Outlook Calendar with site information pertinent to the scheduled service call the night before the project is scheduled
  • Communicate with customers while on site to understand the exact reason for the service call
  • Complete all service calls (Equipment Startup, Service calls, Equipment training) efficiently and completely
  • Perform detailed on-site equipment evaluations and perform the necessary work including but not limited to field modifications, warranty issues, and trouble shooting
  • Effectively communicate product symptoms and field conditions to the manufacturer and clients
  • Generate detailed service reports: able to describe what was encountered when you first arrived on site, issues encountered, actions taken to resolve the issues, succinctly summarize onsite work and outline resolution, include before and after pictures with written descriptions in all Service reports
  • Report job site findings to the Service Manager
  • Complete all Service reports within 24 hours of the completed site visit
  • Format and write all service reports using proper grammar and punctuation

Job Requirements

  • This position will require complete understanding of mechanical systems and control strategies (VRF, Energy Recovery, Fans, Air Handling Equipment)
  • This position will require a strong background in Refrigeration, Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems
  • Applicant must have excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and be able to work under pressure
  • Applicant must be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and IPAD/IPHONE
  • Applicant must have the ability to multitask, possess organizational skills, and be attentive to details
  • Applicant must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, maintain composure and treat others with respect
  • Applicant must be extremely efficient, with excellent time management skills
  • This position comes with a fair amount of Autonomy; the successful candidate will have the responsibility to be productive and schedule/reschedule service visits to avoid making the customers wait for start-up

Hours are Monday to Friday 6:00 am -3:00 pm with no mandatory overtime.


Physical Requirements

  • Applicant must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
