HVAC Service Technician

Position Summary

A1 Mechanical Heating & Cooling is seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial HVAC systems while delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems
• Service gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, mini splits, and related HVAC equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential system issues
• Communicate repair recommendations clearly and professionally with homeowners and office staff
• Complete service documentation, invoices, and notes accurately
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle
• Assist with warranty work, system startups, and occasional installation support as needed
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, IAQ products, and repair vs replacement options
• Participate in on-call rotation when required

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Knowledge of gas furnaces, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, and electrical controls
• EPA Certification required
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the team
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift equipment and work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions
• NATE Certification or additional HVAC certifications are a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
